Abstract

As technology continues to become more pervasive, the ability to use sensors to help workers is increasing greatly. However, in the world of “Digital Transformation” or “Internet of Things” or “Industry 4.0”, where is the reality that goes beyond the buzzwords?
This presentation will discuss changes in technology that are driving adoption and some of the quick-win types of use cases for in-plant sensors to help reduce outages and increase Safety. The discussion will focus on those that will deliver value, avoiding missteps and false starts. In-plant projects will be discussed at a high level.
Attendees will gain knowledge in new various types of technology, projects that are directed at Reliability, Maintenance, Safety and Operations, and things to watch out for when implementing the use of wireless networks.
